You want to have the healthiest life possible...it’s why you’re a part of the Thrive Naturals community.

That means there’s a strong chance you’ve already started making many healthy changes to your lifestyle.

But did you know there’s one EASY thing you can do with your diet that could:

  • Promote a leaner figure and lower body weight
  • Encourage smooth, comfortable digestion

That easy thing I’m talking about — is adding more plant-based foods into your diet.

Now, don’t get me wrong...I know going vegan isn’t for everyone.

But I do encourage everyone to eat more veggies and fewer animal products, whenever possible.

And that’s especially important at this time of the year. After all, with all of the BBQ’s and summer parties, we tend to indulge more and eat a little heavier.

So, balancing out those “special occasion’ meals could play a major role in feeling great — all summer long.

That’s why today, I wanted to share 3 simple tips for getting more plants into your diet:

TN-PlantBasedFoods-Veggies

1. Don’t think of veggies as “less”, think of them as “more” — For most people, going on a diet means leaving behind all of their favorite foods.

But instead of thinking, “I can’t eat meat”,” think, “I can eat plenty of my favorite fruits, veggies, and beans — even more than if I were eating meat!”

Think of it like this: there are WAY more plant options than animal options...and on top of that, they’ve got fewer calories per serving, so eating “more” isn’t really a problem.

By simply changing around your thought process a bit, you can focus on the bounty of healthy ingredients you get to choose from and less what you’re not eating. Planning your meals would become much less of a chore and more of a pleasure.

(Here’s a tip: Try going to your local farmers market this weekend. Ask a few of the vendors for some advice — I’m sure they’ll have great recipes using ingredients you’ve never tried.)

2. Get your “dairy” from unexpected sources — Now, nearly everyone I know absolutely loves their cheese and ice cream...and I know plenty of people who just have to start their day with yogurt.

But thanks to the rise in vegan diets, alternative dairy is more popular than ever before — and that means most grocery stores now carry great options like coconut milk, rice milk, flax seed milk, and other creamy, non-dairy products.

Look for cashew yogurt and macadamia cheese, to name a few. Personally, I LOVE to end the week with a pint of dairy free birthday cake ice cream.

3. Start with your favorites – Eating fewer meat or dairy products doesn’t mean you have to give up your favorite foods...it means you’ve got an opportunity to find new ways to enjoy them instead!

If you’re a chili fan, make a bean and veggie version instead of a meat-based one...

And for your mac and cheese, look up a vegan recipe that features macadamia nuts and nutritional yeast (it sounds kooky, but trust me on this one!).

I know it’s easier for some people to cut out all animal products at once — while it can be difficult for others.

And that’s alright. But making small changes, one at a time can have a major impact on your long-term health.

Remember, on top of all the incredible things a more plant-based diet can do for your gut health, a potent probiotic is still a vital part of a complete digestive health solution.

And Thrive Naturals’ Advanced Probiotic Complex is here to help you complete the puzzle and keep your whole body healthy and happy.
